Mr. Applegate joined the Business, Real Estate & Litigation Group of Charny, Charny & Karpousis, P.A. in August 2009. He will concentrate in the areas of commercial and corporate matters, including business litigation and related matters.
A graduate of Rutgers School of Law, Mr. Applegate spent eight years as an Associate with Blank Rome LLP in Cherry Hill, New Jersey within its Corporate Litigation section. He has substantial litigation experience in a variety of complex commercial and corporate matters, including securities litigation, shareholder actions, class actions, business torts, consumer fraud, insurance insolvency, Sarbanes-Oxley, RICO, and privacy-related issues. Mr. Applegate was co-author of Fear and Loathing in the 3rd Circuit Over Class Actions and Rule 68, Andrews Litigation Reporter/Class Action, Volume 12, Issue 2 (March 2005) and Stifel v. Hopkins Revisited: Domicile and the Effects of Compulsion, 32 Rutgers Law Journal 583 (2001).
Active in the legal community, Mr. Applegate is a member of the American Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association and Camden County Bar Association. He is also an arts enthusiast and is associated with the Young Friends of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and 21st Century Society of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Mr. Applegate is a committed supporter of the United Way.
Mr. Applegate currently resides in Southampton, New Jersey with his wife, Elena, and their two sons. When not working, he enjoys classical music, gardening and spending time with his family.
