Erin Kolmansberger joins the firm's Divorce & Family Law Group, having completed a one-year judicial clerkship in the Superior Court of New Jersey in Burlington County, New Jersey. With Erin's addition, the Divorce & Family Law Group has grown to include seven attorneys specializing in this field.

Jonathan M. Friedman joins Rick Charny in the firm's Business & Real Estate Law Group, having completed a one-year judicial clerkship in the Superior Court of New Jersey in Camden County, New Jersey.

Rick Charny completes two years as President of the Katz Jewish Community Center.

Having outgrown its office space in Cherry Hill, the firm relocates to the Bloom Court office building on Route 73 in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, its current location.

Amy Smith joins the firm's Divorce & Family Law Group after spending four years as an Assistant Prosecutor in the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office, including service in that office's Family Unit-Domestic Violence Section.

Nancy D. Gold becomes "Of Counsel" to the firm, bringing with her 30 years of experience in divorce and family law, most recently in her own private practice. Nancy was well respected for her service as Chair of the New Jersey Supreme Court's District IV Ethics Committee.

Rick Charny became the President of the Katz Jewish Community Center of Southern New Jersey, a non-profit agency providing social, cultural, educational, recreational and health-related programs for the community. He would go on to lead the JCC for the next two years, presiding over its board of directors.

The firm changed its name to "Charny, Charny & Karpousis" in recognition of the contributions of Karen Rose Karpousis in the firm's growth and success.

The firm responded to continued growth in the divorce and family law practice area, adding Dawn Kaplan, a lateral hire from another local firm specializing in that field.

Karen Rose Karpousis, an experienced divorce and family law attorney, joined the firm in May of 2003. She had specialized in the practice of divorce and family law since 1992, most recently as a partner in a large firm headquartered in Cherry Hill.

Judy Charny is appointed Cherry Hill Township Municipal Court Prosecutor. She would continue in this position for more than eight years.

Our firm was founded in March of 1999 by the husband and wife team of Richard B. Charny and Judith S. Charny as "Charny & Charny" with offices in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Rick had been in private practice in South Jersey since 1982, most recently having been a partner in the Haddonfield law firm of Weiner & Charny. Judy, who had started her career in the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, was concentrating her private practice in divorce and family law.
